Executive Director: Hadley DeBree
Hadley grew up in the Wood River Valley, graduating from Wood River High School. She received a B.A. in Biology-Environmental Studies from Whitman College, and upon graduating, completed two years as an AmeriCorps member for the ERC from 2010-2012, and after a short break, served as the ERC’s Program Director from 2014-2015.
Hadley is excited to be working now as Executive Director, sharing her passion for biology and the environment with the community that initially inspired that love.
In her off time, Hadley enjoys spending time outside hiking and learning more about Idaho’s native flora and fauna, listening to live music with friends, and playing tennis.
Program Director: Alisa McGowan
Alisa graduated from The University of Vermont with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Water Resources in 2013. Between graduating from UVM and beginning work at the ERC, Alisa worked as a naturalist in Colorado, led whitewater rafting trips on the Salmon River, backcountry ski trips throughout the mountains of Central Idaho and outdoor program trips for The Sage School and Community School.
She is most happy when she can share her love for our natural world with others. You can find her skiing powdery slopes, running Sun Valley’s iconic trails or paddling one of the gorgeous local rivers in her free time.
Development and Community Engagement Coordinator: Colleen Schmit
Colleen grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies, Conservation Biology, and Spanish. She has worked with the Earth Science Women’s Network as the Communications Coordinator and the Wood River Land Trust as the Stewardship Intern. Colleen is excited to be working with the ERC, combining her interests in the natural world and non-profit work.
Colleen is loving living in the mountains and all the opportunities for hiking, running, and backpacking. She also enjoys learning to identify plants and animals, cross country skiing, and watching snow fall.
