| Winter Tracking | |
| 10:00 AM-2:00 PM (Meet at the ERC) | |
| Do you have family or guests coming to town for the holidays? If so, check out the ERC’s winter animal tracking workshops. These programs are fun for the whole family and include a perfect combination of recreating, learning and having fun in the great outdoors. As you know, the best place to be at any time of year in Sun Valley is outside! Join us on February 16 from 10-2 with local naturalist Ann Christensen for winter animal tracking. This workshop teaches participants to spot the ever-present array of wild signatures scattered across our local landscape in the snow. This is a hands-on course covering the shape of animals’ feet, how they move, what they eat, where they go in the winter months, and how to look for those clues. We will look for tracks from marten, ermine, fox, coyote, mice, shrew, snowshoe hare, elk, deer and more! Workshop attendees should bring snowshoes, poles (optional), binoculars (optional), a water bottle, and lunch. Hot cocoa will be provided by Tully's! Participants will meet at the Environmental Resource Center office (471 Washington Avenue North, Ketchum) for a short indoor class, then we will carpool to a nearby trailhead to look at tracks. Please call 726-4333 to register. Workshops are free to ERC members; non-members are $15 each or $25 per family. | ----- Saturday, February 23, 2008 ----- |

These programs are fun for the whole family and include a perfect combination of recreating, learning and having fun in the great outdoors. As you know, the best place to be at any time of year in Sun Valley is outside! Meet in Hailey at 10 am at the public parking lot located at the corner of River and Bullion Streets to carpool south. Please remember to bring snowshoes (if there's enough snow), lunch, and water. You can also bring binoculars, spotting scope, or birding field guide, if you have them, though these will be provided for participants who need them.
