Keeping our trailheads and
waterways clean.

The ERC dog waste pick up effort was started in 2005 in collaboration with the US Forest Service, BCRD, BLM and other user groups. The effort to provide dog waste bins and pick up bags was in response to the environmental and health impacts associated with unattended pet waste that was piling up at trailheads across the valley.

In the past 8 years, the effort became less of a priority and as a consequence dog waste began to accumulate at trailheads again, bins were overflowing and our office was receiving complaints.

In response to these issues, the ERC is reinvigorating the clean up effort through the PÜP Program!

PÜP is an annual sponsorship program for individuals and businesses to help the ERC
maintain poop-free trailheads!
