Do you have a child with a passion for science and the outdoors? We invite you to WASS! We created WASS! to provide students opportunities beyond the school day to participate in project-based learning, within the context of natural science, the environment, and sustainability issues. We will build opportunities for participants to explore science through games, art, journaling, observation, exploration, service learning, and scientific research.
WASS! Winter Adventure Science School makes its debut at WRMS this winter! The 8-session program, which is open to 6th and 7th grade students, will take place on Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Community Campus. At the end of the school day, students will take the bus to the Community Campus where our program will begin. After WASS! a bus will be available to take students home. Our meeting dates are as follows: 1/19, 1/26, 2/2; 2/9, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22.
The program is FREE, and in addition to all of our amazing activities and adventures, we also provide a simple snack at each session, as well as a journal for the program (we'll send it home on the final day). Students may elect to go home on the after-school bus. You MUST register your child for the program - thank you. Additional information will be sent once you have done so. For more information, or to register, please call us at 208.726.4333.Each week, we will share with you (via this page) descriptions of what we are learning, our adventures, things to bring, and ideas for connecting program ideas to home. We hope you'll check in with us!
