Environmental Education Program Associate

Position Summary: Help us to Connect People to Nature through Education...in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho! This 12-month AmeriCorps position offers an exciting opportunity for involvement with a wide array of environmental education programs and outreach initiatives. The Program Associate will carry forth an environmental education program for all the elementary schools in the district and implement a number of other youth programs. This person will also facilitate several outreach initiatives for the community, such as community clean up efforts. The overall goal is to raise environmental awareness, promote a more sustainable community and engage community members of all ages in hands-on environmental education activities and awareness initiatives that promote a greater understanding of our natural world.

Energy Associate

Position Summary: Help us to strengthen the sustainability of our community...in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho! This 12-month AmeriCorps position offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen energy and resource conservation throughout the valley. This Associate will compile and organize energy resource information that is pertinent to the local community and will assist with the ERC’s leading summer recycling initiative. The Associate will collaborate with local partners such as the Blaine County School District to help plan and implement a detailed energy and carbon footprint assessment.

WHAT IS AMERICORPS?It is a one year commitment to a National Service Program that challenges an individual to put skills and ideals to work while helping others.

WHAT IS LEWIS-CLARK SERVICE CORPS? Lewis-Clark Service Corps (LC Service Corps) is an AmeriCorps program focused on education. The program places individuals as AmeriCorps members at host agencies throughout Idaho where they tutor and/or mentor students, helping them improve and remain successful in school. Host agencies include Idaho colleges and universities, alternative and other public schools, correctional institutions, literacy labs and other pre-school programs, family literacy programs, and community agencies.
